Guitar News the Fender Stratocaster

Guitar Lessons in London

Few electric guitars can boast the enduring versatility of the FenderStratocaster, an iconic American classic and the most-copied electric guitar of all time. From Buddy Holly and surf guitar great Dick Dale through to Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix, the Strat has been the guitar of choice for countless legends. At Kensington & Chelsea Guitar School a fender Stratocaster is always to hand!

Since the Fender Stratocaster was designed in 1954 by Leo Fender, George Fullerton and Freddie Tavares, the Strat has been in continuous production. Nearly six decades on and the Fender Strat has gone through a vast array of refinements and permutations, but the essential design and elements remain the same.

We love the Fender Stratocaster!

Originally the Stratocaster was offered in a 2-color sunburst finish on a solid, deeply contoured ash body, a 21-fret one-piece maple neck with black dot inlays and Kluson tuning heads. In 1956 Fender began issuing solid Stratocasters with alder bodies. In 1960 the available custom colors were standardised.Today the Strat is still one of the most popular, if not the most popular, guitar made. Leo Fender died in 1991 leaving a true legacy for us all to enjoy. I’m sure that there are many other people who have contributed to the Stratocaster design and the actual manufacturing of the instrument. An interesting side note: LeoFender didn’t know how to play guitar, but he new how to design and manufacture them. Over the years there has been a number of one of a kind strats made. One of the more notable ones is the see-through Plexi-glass model and the rhinestone strat. Fender doesn’t directly build guitars for guitarists but rather they have a network of authorized Fender custom shop dealers.Make sure you add a Frender Stratocaster to your guitar collection SOON!It’s so versatile, so well balanced, and the combination is something that will really bring a smile to experienced Strat players when you hear them together. I’ve said this before about other guitars but with this one I believe it’s true… I’ll have this one with me as long as I’m able to keep a death grip on it. Hard to find one like mine now , but if you’re a Guitar player and want something unique and different and rewarding, you’d have a hard time beating the Strat.
